Leading the Shahi Snan (Royal Bath)
Atal Akhara traditionally takes the first position in the Shahi Snan—the most important ceremonial bath during Kumbh Mela.Thousands of Naga Sadhus, led by the Shri Mahant and Mahamandaleshwars, march in grand processions with chants, conch shells, and saffron flags.

What Happens During the Aarti
Sacred chants and bhajans fill the air as priests wave oil lamps in synchronized motions.Large brass aarti diyas (lamps) glow brightly, symbolizing light over darkness and purity over ego. Devotees offer flowers, incense, and camphor flames to the river, seeking blessings and inner peace. The Kashi Shaiv Mahotsav 2023, organized under the guidance of Atal Akhara, was a magnificent spiritual festival dedicated to Lord Shiva and the propagation of Shaivite philosophy. Held in Varanasi (Kashi)—the city of Shiva—it brought together thousands of saints, scholars, devotees, and spiritual seekers from across the country.Discourses on Shiva Tattva, Panchakshari Mantra (ॐ नमः शिवाय), and the Shaiva Agamas.
